The inspiration for this painting came from an engagement story during an African safari and my long-standing fascination with the book Out of Africa. It’s a story about intimacy, love, and a special kind of freedom that can only be found in contact with wild nature.

The painting depicts a person against a vast, open space. The contrast between the intimacy of human emotions and the power of nature became the main theme of the composition.

The African landscape here symbolizes breath, space, and perspective. In places where the horizon seems endless, everyday matters lose their significance, and one can rediscover their presence and connection with the world.
