Relative Beauty Silk Kimono
from the painting by Kasia Laskowska
Wearable art created from an original painting.
The Relative Beauty silk kimono originates from the painting of the same title by artist Kasia Laskowska.
What began as a contemporary composition on canvas has been carefully transformed into silk. The artist translated her painting into an original textile design, preserving the emotional depth and visual rhythm of the artwork while giving it a new dimension of movement and lightness. It is an authored silk design developed directly from the original painting.
Crafted from the finest natural silk, the kimono drapes effortlessly on the body. The fabric softly reflects light, revealing the colours and structure of the painterly composition. Its clean, balanced cut allows the artwork itself to take centre stage.
Relative Beauty is an example of art that leaves the wall and enters everyday life.

How to Wash Silk with Printed Ink
Washing silk with a print (especially a vibrant one like your kimono) requires control over three factors: temperature, friction, and chemicals. Any mistake can result in fading or pigment bleeding.
Recommended Safe Method
1. Water
-
Cold or max 20–30°C (68–86°F)
-
No sudden temperature changes (can cause dye migration)
2. Detergent
-
Use only detergent for silk or delicate fabrics (pH neutral)
-
Avoid: enzymes, bleach, stain removers, powders
3. Washing
-
Hand wash only (recommended)
-
Gently immerse and lightly agitate for 2–3 minutes
-
Do not rub, scrub, or twist the printed areas
4. Rinsing
-
Use water at the same temperature
-
Optional: add a small amount of vinegar (helps stabilize color and remove detergent residue)
5. Drying
-
Do not wring
-
Gently press in a towel (roll method)
-
Dry flat or on a hanger, away from direct sunlight
